Professional Training

Workshops/Training

The Family Life Council provides trainings for professionals and volunteers who work with children, youth and families. Click here to view the current schedule of our trainings and workshops.

The following programs are consistently a part of the Family Life Council’s programs.

Growing Up One Step At A Time

Childcare professionals can attend one or all of these programs on enhancing children’s growth and development.  However, anyone who works or lives with children is welcome.  Pre-registration is required and the cost is $5 per program.  Continuing education credit for childcare providers is available. Each workshop focuses on issues related to child development, effective teaching strategies, and approaches to enriching the lives of preschool aged children. Click here to see a complete schedule of programs.

Each series of the Parenting Children of Divorce program is led by an attorney or a mental health professional. The Family Life Council offers trainings to local volunteers who are then asked to lead one series per year. At times, trainings are offered to other agencies in N.C. and surrounding states so that they can develop and implement their own Parenting Children of Divorce program.

To learn more about either local or regional trainings, contact the Family Life Council at 336-333-6890 ext. 227 or email us at info@flcgso.com.
